Way back in my elementary days, I saw the meaning of fate. From that day, that was one of my favorite words. All I know is fate is the same as destiny. I don’t even know what is destiny! I only have a connotation of LOVE in it. I never expect that I will be encountering fate and destiny in English IV. As our discussion went on, I realized that fate set by the gods and the destiny is the way one will be fulfilling his fate. I hope I get it right! I am amazed how the Greeks’ faith affected their lives. I will never forget how Agamemnon sacrificed his daughter for the sake of war. It just shows his faith in gods. Also, I was not aware of the treatment of the men with women in the Greek culture. It opened my mind on the cruelness of the husbands to their wives. At first, I admit that Helen of Troy and the Odyssey seemed boring for me. I never thought that one day I will fall in love with the two story. For me, it is shallow to begin a war because of love but for the Greeks, they did this because of their faith in their gods. I am astonished with the TRUE LOVE of Penelope and Odysseus in the Odyssey. And know, I am also willing to wait even it will take so long, just to be with the person I love the most. After realizing all of these, I feel so blessed that I did not experience those things.

At the end of the day, my insights on fate and destiny do not change. Why? Because since then, I do not believe in fate and destiny. I am glad that I have more knowledge on Greek culture, fate, destiny and the gods. I saw the other side of the rainbow and now I understand why circumstances occurs in different manners.
